Owned and operated by two retired police detectives, Deception Detection was created to bring state-of-the-art technology lie detection options to the tri-state area. We at Deception Detection are the proud polygraph examiners serving the needs of the New York/Connecticut Metropolitan Transportation Authority for their police candidate pre-hire polygraph -exams.
We are centrally located in Berlin, Connecticut. Due to the portability of our testing equipment, we can travel throughout the tri-state area.

Gary Chute (Owner) is a retired Sergeant with the New Britain Police Department. During his tenure with that agency, he worked a variety of assignments, including patrol officer and field training officer; detective in the auto theft task force, burglary unit, and white-collar crime investigator; sergeant of the Traffic Safety Bureau and patrol. He has been a licensed private detective for ten (10) years, the principal owner of Sub Rosa Investigative Group LLC, dba Black Taurus Associates.
Patricia “Trish” O’Connor (Owner) is a retired New York City Detective who served for 20 years. Trish proudly served in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where she was a member of the Detective Squad.
Working closely with New York County’s elite District Attorneys on investigations, most of the cases Detective O’Connor worked on were confidential, discreet, and highly sensitive.
Trish worked on various cases specializing in fraud and long-term investigations. She is well-trained and experienced in the investigative and surveillance process. Since her retirement in 2013, Patricia has worked on investigations in the private sector that include marital and custody matters, insurance fraud, stalking, witness location, cold case homicide, and business fraud.
The New England Innocence Project (NEIP) fights to correct and prevent wrongful convictions and ensure justice within the criminal legal system for innocent people imprisoned for a crime they did not commit in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
